New Years Eve 2011

{Most ridiculous family picture ever. Madeline had just fallen and scraped her knee, Hadley was trying to take a nap in the bottom of the basket, and Brdiger was crying. Perfect time for a photo, right?!? Hahaha, at least we're all in it!}
On New Year's Eve, Devin ended up working so I took the kids up to Red Rock for a picnic and to get some of their dang energy out. My family decided to come last minute too and with the perfect weather, it ended up being a really great day. The kids all had such a good time and I loved being outside again without freezing my butt off. It wasn't too busy either, which is always a bonus. We started at Calico Basin and after a while headed up a ways to the little town of Blue Diamond. I had no idea it was actually a real place! Seriously, I must be so blonde or something but I thought it was just a street on the other side of town, haha. Anyway, it's a real place! They have a little park there so the kids just hung out while the boys went bike riding. My kids are getting to ages where it's not totally impossible to leave the house on my own and feel completely overwhelmed, so I think I might start doing things like this more often. The girls are such good friends and with Bridger starting to walk, he's right behind them. Big open spaces like Red Rock are perfect for them.

{Madeline. Let's talk about this awkward phase she's currently in. Won't let me do her hair, and when I do, she pulls it out as soon as I'm not looking, won't let me help her get dressed, and if I dress her, she changes and then hides until the last second and I don't have time to change her back, wears her glasses on the tip of her nose, and makes the funniest faces. Still the sweetest Madeline in town though:)}

{Hadley is so freaking busy! I swear that girl never stops moving. She loved hiking around in the grass for "golden treasures!" aka straw, and kicking around her orange like a soccer ball. }

{My Bridger is so big these days...}

{Please note the photo of my mom taking a picture of my sister and her little family. What the heck is my other sister doing in the background?!? hahaha}

**As far as festivities for the night go, Devin went downtown with some friends because he's never done the Vegas New Years thing. I have, so I passed and stayed home with the kids. We were all asleep by 10 and I even missed Devin's call at midnight because I was so out. Is it sad that New Year's just isn't a big deal to me anymore? Staying up late to wish myself a Happy New Year just seems really dumb and impractical. And the people lighting fireworks off at 9> Gah! I was so annoyed. I'm so old!!! What the heck is my problem?!? (PS, if you did make it past midnight, props to you. I'm not calling you dumb by any means!)

***And no making fun of my pictures! When you're as behind on blogging as I am, you barely give them a second glance before throwing them up on the blog, haha.

That is honestly the best family picture. You can see so much is going one but there you are with the biggest smile but behind those eyes I'm sure you are saying "get me out of here".

It's crazy that that was New Years Eve! This winter is so crazy! That picture is a classic! Those are some of my favorites when I look back at the pictures that my parents have of me and my siblings!
